Opening hours: Summer daily from 09.00 - 19.30

the biggest amber shop of Europe – was opened in 2002. It lies at the foot of the Salzburg fortress,

a breathtaking location before an unique scenery in the hometown of Mozart which enchants our visitors.

Amber was always a popular commercial product and to get in its possession, people have undertaken dangers and strains. The so-called „Amber-road“, the oldest „landlocked road“ of Central Europe, connected the Baltic Sea with the Adriatic at about 1700-km length and went through the today's states of Italy, Slovenia, Hungary, Austria, Czechia, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Russia.

Already since prehistoric times amber was used for the production of jewellery as well as for objects of art. It had always fascinated people, even emperor Nero should have owned it in large quantities.

Till this day amber is known as a very popular and precious gem stone which was formed from the resin of mighty pines 40 to 50 million years ago.  "Real amber" is only resin, which is more than one million years old.

We made it to our goal to pass this fascination to our visitors and to find the most exclusive and highest-quality pieces in the most different colours, forms and dimensions.
